Life History of Scott Joplin


1868 – Scott Joplin born November 24, 1868.

1894 – Joplin works as pianist at the Maple Leaf Club.

1899 – Scott Joplin publishes Maple Leaf Rag.

1902 – Scott Joplin publishes The Entertainer.

1911 – Joplin publishes his opera Treemonisha.

1917 – Scott Joplin dies April 1, 1917.

1976 – Joplin’s opera Treemonisha wins Pulitzer Prize.
